The Corporate Reorganization e-doc allows you to accommodate situations in which the shares of one security are converted to another as a result of a corporate action (corporate spinoff, Committee on Uniform Security Identification Procedures (CUSIP) change, merger, buyout, etc.). In this situation, the total carry value of the resulting holding(s) is not affected, yet the units and the security identification have changed.
Use of this e-doc does
not result in a General Ledger entry. Keep in mind, however,
that depending on the nature of the corporate action, use of this e-doc may
result in fractional shares that may be converted to cash at
some point.
This transaction is similar to a security transfer transaction except that it involves two securities and only one KEMID.
