The Agency document includes the Edit Agency tab. The system automatically enters data into both the Old and New sections in this tab. Selected data fields are available for editing.

Agency Number |
Display-only. Displays an auto-generated number that uniquely identifies an external funding agency. |
Agency Reporting Name |
Required. The shortened name of the agency. This field is used for most reports and lookups where space is a limited. |
Agency Full Name |
Required. The official, unabbreviated business title of the agency funding the award. |
Agency Type Code |
Required. A unique value to categorize the type of
agency. Existing agency type codes may be retrieved from the lookup Example values are |
Active Indicator |
Indicates whether this agency is active or inactive. Remove the check mark to deactivate. |
In State Indicator |
Optional. Indicates if the agency is located in your institution's state. |
Indirect Amount |
Optional. The maximum dollar amount or rate that this agency allows. This field is informational only and does not drive other fields in the KFS system. |
Reports To Agency Number |
Optional. The code identifies the agency to which this
agency reports. Existing agency numbers may be retrieved from the lookup
If the agency is a smaller agency that reports to another agency, this field identifies the next higher agency in the agency hierarchy. If the agency is an independent agency and is not part of an agency hierarchy, this field is left blank. Many federal agencies have a 'reports to' agency. |

Generation of Agency Number:
If
an agency number is generated but the agency document is cancelled the number is
void and is not assigned. For example, if a user
selects the NEW agency button and the system generates number 55269 but the user
cancels the document prior to approval the next available number for any user is
55270.
